Summary

The MIT Joint Program on the Science and Policy of Global Change has developed the Community Land Model-Agriculture module (CLM-AG) to model crop growth and water stress. CLM-AG is a global generic crop model built within the Community Land Model version 3.5 framework. The report describes the model's structure and main routines, and evaluates it through two comparisons: globally with the Global Agro-Ecological Zones model, and in the United States with survey data from the USDA. The results show that CLM-AG's outputs are comparable to both the existing model and surveyed data.
