Summary

The Heavy Photon Search experiment at Jefferson Laboratory will search for a new massive gauge boson, aka "dark" or "heavy photon", in the mass range 20-1000 MeV/c2 and coupling to electric charge ϵ2 in the range 10−5 to 10−10, using a compact forward spectrometer with silicon microstrip detectors and an electromagnetic calorimeter to identify and trigger on e+e− pairs produced by heavy photon decay.
