Summary

Phthalate sind chemische Verbindungen, die als Weichmacher in Kunststoffen wie PVC eingesetzt werden. Phthalate können gesundheitsschädliche Wirkungen haben, insbesondere auf das Hormonsystem und die Fortpflanzungsfähigkeit. Die Verwendung von Phthalaten ist in vielen Produkten untersagt oder streng reglementiert, und ihre Produktion und Aufnahme durch die Bevölkerung sind rückläufig. Die häufigsten Phthalate sind DEHP, DBP, DIBP und BBP, die jedoch teilweise durch andere Phthalate wie DINP und DIDP ersetzt wurden. Die EU hat Grenzwerte für die Verwendung von Phthalaten festgelegt, um die Gesundheit der Verbraucher zu schützen.
