Summary

An ethnobotanical study was conducted in District Bannu, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan, to explore the medicinal uses of commonly used weeds. 27 weed species from 19 families were collected, identified, and documented. The study revealed that these weeds are used to treat various diseases, including headache, diabetes, toothache, jaundice, intestinal diseases, asthma, dysentery, diarrhea, fever, urinary tract infections, bleeding piles, skin disorders, and cough. The weeds were found to have positive uses, including food, fodder, medicinal, fuel, and pest control. The study aimed to record, preserve, and document the ethnomedicinal uses of these weeds before the information is lost forever.
