Summary

Kanal İstanbul Projesi ÇED Raporu Değerlendirmesi, Mart 2020'de yapılmıştır. Rapor, projenin etkilerini değerlendirme konusunda bilimsel yeterliliğe sahip değildir ve birçok canlı türü için etki değerlendirmesi yapılmamıştır. Proje, ulusal ve uluslararası öneme sahip alanları, habitatları ve tür gruplarını yok edecektir. Rapor, Türkiye'nin taraf olduğu sözleşmelerin hükümlerine aykırıdır ve ÇED mevzuatına aykırıdır. Proje, iki Önemli Doğa Alanı'nı (Küçük Çekmece Havzası ve Terkos Havzası) yeryüzünden tamamen silecek ve iki Önemli Doğa Alanı'nın (Batı İstanbul Meraları ve Ağaçlı Kumulları) ekolojik bütünlüğünü ortadan kaldıracaktır. Proje, 12 bitki türü, 13 endemik bitki türü, 16 nadir bitki türü, 1 sürüngen türü, 5 kuş türü, 2 yarasa türü ve 2 karasal memeli türü ile bunların doğal yaşam alanlarını yok edecektir. Proje, Biyolojik Çeşitliliğin Korunması Sözleşmesi'ne, Bern Sözleşmesi'ne, Ramsar Sözleşmesi'ne ve 4915 sayılı Kara Avcılığı Kanunu'na aykırıdır.
