Summary

ICEMELT study aims to identify blood-based gene signatures and tissue-infiltrating immune cells associated with immune-related adverse events (irAEs) in patients treated with immune-checkpoint inhibitors (ICIs). The study recruits patients with solid malignancies scheduled to receive ICI therapy and collects blood and tissue samples. Preliminary data shows successful implementation of Visium spatial analysis on FFPE tissues to identify and characterize tumour-infiltrating immune cells, providing novel information on immune cell interactions with potential clinical implications. The study has recruited 206 patients and aims to establish a tool to predict and diagnose irAEs in clinical context.
