Summary

Magnetic properties of parabolic quantum dots are studied in the presence of spin-orbit interaction. Theoretical calculations show that the spin-orbit interaction leads to an enhancement of paramagnetism in the dots. The magnetization and susceptibility of the dots exhibit interesting behavior at low temperatures, with abrupt changes at low magnetic fields due to the crossing of spin-split electron levels. The Rashba term in the spin-orbit interaction potential is used to examine the impact on the magnetization and susceptibility of the dots. The results demonstrate the possibility of controlling the effect by external electric fields or dot design. The calculations are performed using parameters of InAs semiconductor quantum dots, and the energy level behavior and thermodynamical properties of parabolic quantum dots in magnetic fields are discussed.
