MELCROSSTM 22 is a butylated melamine formaldehyde resin with a molecular formula of MIXTURE and molecular weight of MIXTURE. The product is a viscous liquid with a colorless appearance and butanol and xylene odors. It may cause eye irritation, and overexposure to vapors may cause respiratory tract irritation and central nervous system depression. The product contains formaldehyde, which is a potential cancer hazard and may cause cancer in laboratory animal tests. In case of skin contact, wash affected areas with soap and water, and in case of eye contact, irrigate with plenty of water for 15 minutes. The product is flammable, with a flash point of 38℃ and flammable limits of 1.7-11.3% by volume. It should be stored in a cool, well-ventilated area, away from heat and flame, and handled with impervious gloves and apron to prevent skin contact. Engineering controls and personal protective equipment, such as respirators and eye protection, may be necessary to prevent exposure.
