ミヤマカラスアゲハは日本で最も美しい蝶と言われることが多い。奥多摩の日原付近や高尾山に毎年出現し、渓流沿いの道に沿って飛ぶ習性があり、オスはツツジ等の花を訪れるほか頻繁に水溜まりや濡れた道路面で吸水し、大集団になることがある。メスはツツジ、クサギ等の花に飛来して吸蜜する。
