- Line storage areas with crushed rock, gravel, or porous pavement for better infiltration.
- Practice good housekeeping by frequently removing debris, bark, and wood waste.
- Use properly designed basins for log spraying material collection and containment.
- Employ sedimentation measures like silt fencing to prevent sediment discharge.

3. Residual Storage:

- Implementation Required: These SCMs are crucial.
- Measures:
- Locate stored residues away from drainage pathways and surface waters.
- Avoid contaminating residues with oil, solvents, treated wood, or trash.
- Minimize storage time to prevent leachate generation.
- Consolidate piles to reduce exposed surface area.
- Spray surfaces with water to minimize dust.
- Store materials on raised pads and collect/treat contaminated runoff and leachate.
- Cover or enclose stored residues using appropriate containers, silos, or buildings.
- Stabilize slopes and limit their steepness to prevent residue transport by runoff.
