It makes it available for scientists, researchers, and developers to detect changes, map trends, and quantify differences on the Earth's surface. The course will go through the key processing steps involved in land cover mapping activities with particular emphasis on burnt areas detection based on spectral indexes derived from Sentinel-2 imagery. During the course, participants will be able to screen and download EO data from different data providers, generate Land Cover maps in raster or vector format, and apply consolidated processing steps such as automatic data ingestion and classification. The course will also showcase how to benefit from Google Earth Engine archive and processing power to extract and visualise time series of EO data and derived spectral indexes via Python and IMPACT Toolbox interfaces.
