SupMed Project - Mobile Composting Facility RFQ

This Request for Quotation (RFQ) seeks proposals from qualified service providers to design, supply, install, and commission a mobile composting facility in Luxor, Egypt. The project, funded by the French Facility for Global Environment (FFEM), aims to promote sustainable agricultural practices and reduce environmental degradation in the Luxor Governorate and Beqaa Valley in Lebanon through agro-ecology and collective support structures for farmers.

Project Background:

Focuses on climate change adaptation and mitigation strategies for farmers in Egypt and Lebanon.
Targets the Luxor Governorate, Egypt, and the Beqaa Valley, Lebanon, facing water scarcity, soil degradation, and economic vulnerability.
Promotes integrated agro-ecology approaches to reduce water dependency and improve farm incomes.
Includes the creation of a mobile composting facility for EASD (Egypt) to valorize agricultural waste as green manure, reducing chemical fertilizer use and pollution.

Composting Facility Requirements:

The facility must include:

Tractor
Tractor PTO Agricultural Waste Shredder
Agricultural Waste Compactor
Additional equipment for adaptation and transport

Service Provider Responsibilities:

Supply and install the specified equipment.
Provide technical expertise for assembly, commissioning, testing, and maintenance.
Train EASD staff on equipment operation and maintenance.
Ensure equipment insurance and 5-year guarantee.

Timeline:

Contract finalization: May 15 - 30
Equipment delivery and installation: May 1 - 30
Testing, training, and commissioning: June 1 - 15
Facility operational by: June 30

Applicant Qualifications:

Legal status allowing for equipment supply and commissioning in the project area.
Proven experience (at least 5 years) with similar projects in Luxor or Egypt.
* Ability to receive and issue invoices in euros.
