Summary

Radioactive cesium (Cs-134, Cs-137) was not detectable in water at any location in Tochigi Prefecture. In sediments, Cs-134 and Cs-137 were detected with levels ranging from ND to 33 Bq/kg and ND to 260 Bq/kg in rivers, and ND to 120 Bq/kg and 47 to 1,000 Bq/kg in lakes and reservoirs. In the surrounding environment, soil samples showed Cs-134 and Cs-137 levels ranging from ND to 740 Bq/kg and 3.0 to 6,400 Bq/kg in rivers, and ND to 190 Bq/kg and 19 to 1,400 Bq/kg in lakes and reservoirs. Ambient dose rates ranged from 0.04 to 0.19 μSv/h in rivers and 0.05 to 0.11 μSv/h in lakes and reservoirs.
