Background:

Several Water-ForCE beneficiaries are active members of the international GEO Aquawatch initiative.
The WG aims to closely collaborate with GEO Aquawatch throughout the project.
Experts in remote sensing (RS) and in situ measurements for water quality from Copernicus Marine Service (CMEMS), Copernicus Global Land Service (CGLS), and other institutions were engaged through workshops and meetings.

Expert Involvement:

A total of 20 experts from diverse backgrounds have expressed their formal interest to contribute to the Water-ForCE project:

Remote Sensing & In Situ Measurement Experts:

15 individuals representing 13 countries, including Australia, Finland, Italy, Netherlands, UK, Romania, Spain, France, Belgium, Germany, Sweden, China, USA, Canada, Switzerland, and Estonia.

Include research institutions like CSIRO, University of Helsinki, CNR-ISMAR, Leiden University, UK Centre for Ecology & Hydrology, Romanian National Institute for Marine Geology and Geo-Ecology (GeoEcoMar), German Aerospace Center (DLR), and many others.

Next Steps:

The WG will continue to actively engage with GEO Aquawatch members and other experts throughout the project's duration, fostering collaboration and knowledge sharing to enhance water quality monitoring and assessment capabilities.
