Quantum Yang-Mills theory is a fundamental concept in physics that describes the behavior of subatomic particles and forces. The theory evolved from the work of Hermann Weyl and was later developed by Yang and Mills. It is a non-abelian gauge theory that replaces the U(1) gauge group of electromagnetism with a compact gauge group G.
