JaSkel is a skeleton-based framework for developing efficient concurrent, parallel, and Grid applications, providing Java abstract classes that implement recurring parallel interaction paradigms. It uses aspect-oriented external tools to address distributed execution, allowing for nested skeletons and efficient running on Grids of cluster systems. The framework includes distribution tools that generate and launch distributed skeletons, taking advantage of inter/intra-cluster and intra-node communications. JaSkel differs from other skeleton approaches in its orthogonal way of dealing with distribution issues, using code generators to support distribution of selected skeleton classes.
