Summary

Current information modeling techniques result in lossy implementations, failing to preserve combinations of who said what, when, and how sure they were of what they were saying. The proposed technique, called transitional modeling, abandons the concept of a "single version of the truth" and instead uses an equivocal theory that respects the genuine nature of information. It allows for information to be seen from different and concurrent perspectives, with each statement having a reliability ranging from certain to uncertain, and manages changes non-destructively over time. The technique is applicable to various domains, including financial regulations, healthcare, and military or judicial applications, where information is often uncertain, conflicting, or changing.
