Summary

Researchers developed HandMorph, a passive exoskeleton that miniaturizes a user's grasping range, allowing them to experience the sensation of having a smaller hand. The device uses mechanical links to transmit motion and haptic feedback from the wearer's fingers to a smaller hand, creating an illusion that objects are larger. Two user studies found that participants perceived objects as larger when wearing HandMorph and felt more confident in their designs when using it to validate the ergonomics of a toy trumpet for children.
