R-OSGi ermöglicht die Verteilung von OSGi-Diensten im Netz und erfüllt Anforderungen wie Nahtlose Einbettung in OSGi, Zuverlässigkeit, Allgemeingültigkeit, Portabilität, Adaptivität und Effizienz. Die Middleware-Plattform R-OSGi ermöglicht es, OSGi-Dienste transparent zu verteilen, ohne dass Anpassungen an den bestehenden OSGi-Anwendungen erforderlich sind.
