Summary

Boolean Constraint Satisfaction Problems involve Boolean variables and logic functions like AND, OR, and NOT to form propositions. Every Boolean proposition can be expressed in conjuctive normal form (CNF) using AND, OR, and NOT. A Boolean formula is "satisfied" if there exists an assignment to the variables that makes each clause true. The computational problem of determining if a Boolean formula is satisfied is called SATISFIABILITY or SAT, with restricted versions like k-SAT. Solving k-SAT is considered hard, with the exponential time hypothesis stating that any classical algorithm requires exponential time. k-SAT is an example of a Boolean constraint satisfaction problem, where clauses can be viewed as constraints, and the formula is satisfiable if the constraints can be simultaneously satisfied. Boolean formulas can also be expressed using qubits and projectors to detect violations of constraints.
