Summary

Siemens has released software updates for Siveillance VMS to fix a .NET Remoting deserialization vulnerability that could allow elevation of privileges or cause a Denial-of-Service. Affected products include Siveillance VMS 2016 R1 and prior, 2016 R2, 2016 R3, 2017 R1, 2017 R2, and 2018 R1. Updates are available through local Siemens representatives. Restricting network access to ports 7474/TCP and 9993/TCP can reduce the risk. The vulnerability has a CVSS v3.0 Base Score of 8.1.
