Les chantiers internationaux avec l'AMSED sont des voyages solidaires où les participants s'engagent en faveur des populations du Sud, découvrant une autre culture, nouant des contacts d'amitié et travaillant à des projets de solidarité internationale, favorisant l'insertion des jeunes et l'amélioration de leur lieu de vie, tout en acquérant un "plus" dans leur parcours préprofessionnel et en dépassant la peur de l'autre et ses préjugés. Avant de partir, il est essentiel de prendre rendez-vous chez un médecin, de vérifier la validité de sa pièce d'identité, d'obtenir les autorisations d'entrée nécessaires et de s'inscrire au "fil d'Ariane" pour des raisons de sécurité. Les participants doivent également acheter leur billet d'avion à l'avance, préparer leur hébergement et se renseigner sur leur pays de destination. Les chantiers durent environ 2 à 3 semaines et sont précédés d'une préparation de 6 mois, suivis d'un travail de restitution à leur retour.
