Summary

The Lamole di Lamole winery is located in Greve in Chianti, Tuscany, within Italy's oldest and most famous appellation, Chianti Classico. The vineyards stand on one of the region's highest points, between 1150 and 2000 feet, providing ideal temperature variations, sunlight, and winds for excellent ripening of the grapes. The South and West facing vineyards enjoy a continental climate with low summer rainfall, pronounced winds, and excellent exposure to sunlight. The permeable "macigno chiantigiano" soil provides a good source of minerals to the vines.

Lamole di Lamole has always strived to find the ideal Sangiovese clones for its terroir, planting around 32 different clones since 2008. These clones produce loosely packed bunches with smaller berries and a higher skin-flesh ratio, giving the wines more richness and length. The winery is committed to organic farming, using organic compost, eliminating chemical fertilizers, and rebuilding historic stone terraces.

The wines are aged in casks made from premium French oak, which preserve natural aromas and ensure that the wines are a true reflection of their provenance, terroir, and evolution. The casks also help to achieve excellent ageing while reducing and balancing the effect of the wood on the natural aromas of the Sangiovese grape.

The winery produces several wines, including Chianti Classico DOCG Blue Label, Chianti Classico DOCG Gran Selezione Vigneto di Campolungo, and Chianti Classico DOCG Riserva. The Chianti Classico DOCG Gran Selezione from Lamole di Lamole is the result of a rigorous and selective harvest, produced only from grapes grown in the Campolungo Vineyard. This wine is the perfect ambassador for the unique terroir.

The winery has received several awards, including Tre Bicchieri - Gambero Rosso award-winner for five consecutive years since 2013. The wines have received high scores from wine critics, including 91-93 points from various publications.
