Andy Woolford and his son Collin, along with Joe Merrill and his godson Tom Merritt, embarked on a wilderness trip to Olly's Fork, a river in the Bristol Bay region, from August 2nd to 7th, 2012. The group, led by guide Olly Merrill, navigated a portage and fished for various species, including Arctic Grayling, Dolly Varden Char, and Coho salmon. Despite cold weather, the fishing was excellent, with the group catching numerous large Char and Rainbows. They also spotted several bears and bird species, including Ptarmigan and Sand Hill Cranes. Over the course of the trip, the younger anglers, Collin and Tommy, developed their skills and tactics, and by the end, they were markedly different anglers than when they arrived. The trip was a special bonding experience for the fathers and sons, creating memories that will last a lifetime.
