A new service allowing passengers to use their Suica or other IC cards to ride the Shinkansen bullet train without purchasing a ticket in advance.

Target Areas: Tokyo to Nasushiobara on the Tohoku Shinkansen, Tokyo to Jomo-Kogen on the Joetsu Shinkansen, and Tokyo to Karuizawa on the Hokuriku Shinkansen
Eligible IC Cards: Suica, PASMO, Kitaca, TOICA, manaca, ICOCA, PiTaPa, SUGOCA, nimoca, and hayakaken
Fares: The fare will be automatically deducted from the IC card, with prices varying depending on the route

Adult Fares:
Tohoku Shinkansen: Tokyo to Nasushiobara (5,150 yen), Tokyo to Utsunomiya (4,210 yen)
Joetsu Shinkansen: Tokyo to Jomo-Kogen (5,150 yen), Tokyo to Takasaki (4,210 yen)
Hokuriku Shinkansen: Tokyo to Karuizawa (5,150 yen), Tokyo to Takasaki (4,210 yen)
Child Fares:
Tohoku Shinkansen: Tokyo to Nasushiobara (2,570 yen), Tokyo to Utsunomiya (2,100 yen)
Joetsu Shinkansen: Tokyo to Jomo-Kogen (2,570 yen), Tokyo to Takasaki (2,100 yen)
Hokuriku Shinkansen: Tokyo to Karuizawa (2,570 yen), Tokyo to Takasaki (2,100 yen)

Registration Requirements

Initial Registration: Required for first-time users, can be done at automatic ticket vending machines or charge-only machines in the Suica area
Registration Process:
1. Insert IC card into the machine
2. Select the "Touch de Go! Shinkansen" button
3. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete registration

Discontinuation of Shinkansen Ordinary Car Ticket Booklets

Affected Products: Shinkansen ordinary car ticket booklets (6-ticket booklets)
Discontinuation Date: December 22, 2018
* Note: Already purchased ticket booklets can still be used until their expiration date
