Summary

the world-famous overwintering Monarchs in Michoacán state, followed by boat trips to look for Humpback Whales and finally a wide range of birds along the central Pacific coast. The tour began with a visit to the ancient site of Teotihuacán, where a variety of birds were seen, including Vermilion Flycatcher, American Kestrel, and Cassin's Kingbirds. The group then visited two Monarch reserves, where they saw uncountable numbers of Monarchs, a truly memorable experience. They also took boat rides to see female Humpback Whales with their young and 'escort' males. Excursions into forests and mangroves around San Blas brought a wide range of birds, including 13 Mexican endemics. The tour was successful, with mostly good weather, good food, and good company.
