## Preventative Maintenance & Lube Schedule for Trimmer

This schedule outlines essential preventative maintenance tasks and lubrication routines for optimal trimmer performance and longevity.

Frequency:

Daily:
Clean metal surfaces of dust and rust.
Lightly oil non-paper contact metal parts with SAE 10 oil (optional).

Bi-Weekly:
Grease cams and rollers with NLGI #2 lithium molybdenum disulfide grease.
Grease knife castings with NLGI #2 lithium molybdenum disulfide grease.
Oil drive chains and sprockets with SAE 30 oil.

Monthly:
Clean all tapes with blanket wash or alcohol-based cleaner.
Grease pivot shaft (top nipples) with NLGI #2 grease.
Grease bearings (bottom nipples) with NLGI #2 grease.
Lubricate rod ends with NLGI #2 grease.
Inspect belts and replace as needed.
Grease motor and variable pulley with NLGI #2 grease.

Rarely:
Grease drive gears (if necessary) with Moly 29 open gear compound.

Important Notes:

Avoid over-lubrication, as it can attract dirt and debris.
Wipe away excess lubricant after application.
