The device has a positive slope output when an increasing current flows through the primary copper conduction path, and the internal resistance of this conductive path is 1.2 mΩ typical, providing low power loss. The ACS712 is suitable for applications such as motor control, load detection and management, switch-mode power supplies, and overcurrent fault protection, but is not intended for automotive applications.
