Upon delivery, inspect the machine for freight damage and report any issues to the carrier and Barreto Manufacturing. Remove the trencher from the shipping crate. When referring to "right side" or "left side", it is relative to the operator's position with both hands on the handlebars. Install the cushion pad, boom cushion, and boom, taking care to lift the heavy boom with assistance if needed. Ensure the adjuster screw is backed out.

Service Information: The hydraulic system requires approximately 1.5 U.S. gallons of tractor transmission/hydraulic fluid, which may not be shipped due to regulations. Check the reservoir level using the sight gauge and add fluid as necessary. For ambient temperatures between +32°F (0°C) and +90°F (32°C), use hydraulic fluid ISO 68; for temperatures below +32°F (0°C), use hydraulic fluid ISO 46. Routinely check hydraulic fluid level and change the filter after the first 50 hours of use and every 200 hours thereafter. Add approximately one quart of hydraulic fluid to the reservoir with each filter change.

Hour Meter: The SenDEC TACH/HOUR hour meter tracks machine operation hours for routine maintenance. The hour meter is pre-set to go into Flash Alert mode at 25-hour intervals, and Barreto Manufacturing recommends frequent oil changes due to heavy-duty use and extreme conditions. Refer to this manual for equipment service requirements and the Engine Manual for engine service requirements. To reset the Service Interval, hold the tip of the RESET TOOL against the meter, and the display will stop flashing.

Trencher Intended Use: This machine is designed for digging trenches in "normal" ground of reasonably soft dirt and stones up to 3" (15cm) in diameter. Ground that is extremely hard packed, compacted, or rocky may cause damage to the machine. The trencher is not intended for use in wet or flooded conditions, or for digging trenches in areas with high water tables.
