# Bath Drain Installation Guide

## Tools and Materials Required:
- Hacksaw or tubing cutter
- Trap, pipe wrench, adjustable wrench, pliers, screwdrivers
- Plumbers' putty or thread sealant
- Tape
- Gasket
- Strainer, overflow tube, drain ell, tee, tailpiece (for through-the-floor installations), and overflow ell.

## Before You Begin:
- Ensure compliance with local plumbing and building codes.
- Turn off the main water supplies.
- Inspect fittings for damage. For replacement installations, remove existing drain and wall covering at the drain end of the bath.
- Cut overflow tube and drain ell tubes to proper length if necessary; smooth any burrs.

## Installation Steps:

1. Install Drain Ell: Apply plumbers' putty around the strainer, set the gasket between the drain ell and bath, and thread the strainer into the drain ell until snug (do not fully tighten yet).

2. Install Tubing:
- Align coupling nuts, O-rings, and tubes as per illustration for your installation style (above-the-floor or through-the-floor).
- Insert tubes into tee, cut if needed, remove burrs, and tighten coupling nuts.
- Insert tailpiece into trap inlet (or cut to fit), add O-ring, and secure with a coupling nut.

3. Install Overflow Ell: Apply putty to the washer side of the overflow ell, center the gasket in the bath wall opening, and tighten using the retainer nut.
