To make bellows, start by determining dimensions, including the inside of the front and rear standards, and the width of the web, which is determined by the thickness of the front standard. The length of the finished bellows is about 30% reduction from the original length. Draw an outline of the panel with the large ID at the top and small ID at the bottom, and correct length. Use a 45' triangle to draw lines and determine the width of the 2 webs and the space required between the panels. Lay out a sheet of card stock, draw lines for the webs, and mark the length of the bellows. Create 4 patterns, staple them together, and draw lines down each side. Use a 3mm hole punch to put holes near the edge, then cut out the hinge using a ruler and exacto knife. Remove the staples, layout the patterns on brown paper, and cut a spacer to allow for proper folding.
