Summary

Das Modell der Diesellokomotive V 251 901-5 ist eine Nachbildung der fünf modernen dieselhydraulischen Lokomotiven, die die DB als Ersatz für die betagten Dampfloks auf den Schmalspur-Nebenstrecken beschaffte. Die Lokomotiven haben zwei 200 kW (270 PS) starke Dieselmotoren unter der langen Haube und einen Luftkompressor, Druckluftbehälter und Treibstofftanks unter der kurzen Haube. Die Loks leisteten gute Dienste auf ihren Strecken in Südwestdeutschland und eine von ihnen ist heute bei den Rügenschen Kleinbahnen im Einsatz. Das Modell ist für den Betrieb auf LGB-Zweileiter-Gleichstrom-Systemen mit herkömmlichen LGB-Gleichstrom-Fahrpulten vorgesehen und hat eine Lastnachregelung, die die Motordrehzahl konstant hält, auch wenn sich die Belastung der Lok ändert.
