Avoiding kicking or jamming gaffs into poles or trees
Completing regular gaff cut-out tests
Using high-quality climbing boots and adjusting straps securely
Storing climbers separately and keeping them as a personal issue to the employee using them
Not wearing climbers when working on ladders, in aerial lifts, or walking on certain terrain
Not painting climbers, as this can hide defects
Properly disposing of equipment that is unsafe for use
