O XR17V352 é compatível com PCIe 2.0 Gen 1 (2,5 GT/s) e possui 16 entradas/saídas multi-propósito, um contador/temporizador de 16 bits e um registrador de status de interrupção global para otimizar o serviço de interrupções. Cada UART do XR17V352 tem muitos recursos avançados, como FIFOs TX e RX de 256 bytes, gerador de taxa de baud fracionário, controle de fluxo de hardware ou software automático e controle de direção de meia-duplex RS-485 automático. O XR17V352 é disponibilizado em um pacote FPBGA de 113 pinos (9 x 9 mm).
