The microUSB Programming Adaptor (μUSB-PA5) is a USB to TTL UART bridge converter, simple, cost-effective, and easy to use, with a mini-B type USB connector, based on the FTDI FT232RQ USB to Serial Bridge IC. It provides multi-baud rate serial data up to 3M baud rate and access to additional signals, with a 10-pin 2.54mm pitch Dual-In-Line package and a standard 5-pin interface. The μUSB-PA5 is ideal for prototype or production, with RX and TX signals being 3.3V and 5V tolerant. It is compatible with most 4D Systems modules, except for some, such as the uLCD-28PT and uLCD-32PT, which require the 4D Programming cable instead. The adaptor features USB 2.0 compliance, hardware or Xon/Xoff handshaking, and virtual COM port drivers, supporting Windows, MAC, and Linux, with a temperature range of -40 to +85 degrees Celsius and a small size of 33.7mm x 17.3mm. Typical applications include adding micro USB functionality to embedded applications, creating USB to RS-232 converters, and upgrading legacy RS-232 devices.
