Summary

To start filter for first time, ensure correct amount of filter media is in tank, load media with tank half full of water, prime pump, and backwash system. Backwash when tank pressure gauge reads 10-15 lbs higher than starting pressure. Clean pump strainer by turning pump off, removing strainer lid, and replacing lid and "T" bolts. Vacuum pool by turning pump off, leaving valve handle in "Filter" position, and placing vacuum cleaner in pool. Winterize system by placing valve handle in intermediate position, removing drain plugs, and opening air relief valves. Perform weekly, monthly, and bi-yearly inspections to maintain system. Follow preventative maintenance tips, including turning pump off before changing valve positions, not running pump dry, and maintaining adequate water level in pool.
