- Installation:
- Provide screwdriver access to the front of the valve for status viewing.
- For isolated meter installations, use a 3" diameter pipe in a 12"x12"x12" concrete footing, secure the GV-12 stabilizer bracket, and ensure the shut-off valve is accessible.
- Install using smooth surface wrenches only, avoid using pipe wrenches or channel locks to prevent damage.
- For in-ground vault installations, obtain utility approval, brace the valve, and leave clearance for reset.

- Post-Earthquake:
- Wear shoes, expect broken glass, and check family safety.
- Inspect for gas smell, overturned appliances, and damaged vents. If found, shut off the main meter valve.
- Qualified persons should reset the valve after reducing gas pressure, waiting 5 minutes, and turning the reset shaft as indicated.

- Operation & Maintenance:
- Test the valve every 5 years by turning the red shaft 1/8 turn, checking the sight glass, and resetting the valve.
- Install and maintain the valve in compliance with local building codes or the National Fuel Gas Code (ANSI ASC Z23/NFPA 54).

- Warranty & Safety:
- Warranty is void if the valve body is damaged by improper installation.
- The valve must be installed by a qualified installer to prevent accidental activation or gas service interruption.
