Die Vorschriften zur Ermittlung der charakteristischen Daten professioneller FM-Geräte haben sich geändert, daher wird ein Vorschlag gemacht, wie Messverfahren für Testberichte aussehen könnten, um einfach und verständlich zu sein. Die Messungen der Empfängerdaten werden im VHF/UHF-Bereich mit aktiviertem Vorverstärker durchgeführt, der NF-Frequenzgang wird auf "breit" gestellt und Peakfilter oder Tonblenden bleiben deaktiviert. Die Messung des Rauschmaßes und der Empfindlichkeit wird beschrieben, sowie die Messung der Filterbandbreite und die Ermittlung des Intermodulationsabstands. Die Ergebnisse werden in dB angegeben und die Referenz für die Großsignalfestigkeit beträgt 1 µV an 50 Ω im 2-m-Band bzw. 2 µV im 70-cm-Band.
