## Installation Instructions

### Unpack the Ice Maker
- Remove tape and glue from both the interior and exterior of the ice maker before use.
- Use your thumb or a small amount of liquid dish soap to gently rub away any remaining residue.
- Avoid using sharp tools, rubbing alcohol, flammable fluids, or abrasive cleaners for tape removal. Do not use chlorine bleach on stainless steel surfaces.

### Cleaning Before Use
After removing packaging materials, thoroughly clean the ice maker's interior following the cleaning guidelines in the Use and Care Guide.

### Vacation or Extended Time Without Use
- Turn off both water and power supplies to the ice maker before prolonged absences.
- Ensure water supply lines are insulated against freezing conditions to prevent damage.

### Location Requirements
- Installation must adhere to local codes and ordinances.
- Maintain complete unobstruction of the front side for proper ventilation.
- Use the auxiliary grill kit (for custom panel models) to align with cabinet toe grill while ensuring adequate ventilation.
- Install a cold water supply inlet (1/4" OD soft copper tubing or Whirlpool Part #8212547RB) and a Whirlpool approved drain pump (Part #1901A) for water drainage to an existing drain.
- Choose a location with temperatures between 55°F (13°C) and 110°F (43°C), ideal between 70°F and 90°F (21°C and 32°C).
- Protect the ice maker from outdoor elements, such as wind, rain, or water spray.
- Refer to recommended opening dimensions and fixture placement for under-counter installations.

- Always plug into a grounded three-prong outlet.
- Do not remove the ground prong.
