The manual also provides guidelines for additives, column cleaning, and regeneration. For basic or acidic samples, additives such as diethylamine, 2-aminoethanol, or ethylenediamine can be used. The manual recommends avoiding strongly basic solvent additives or sample solutions, as they can damage the silica gel.

To ensure maximum column life, the manual recommends using a guard cartridge, dissolving samples in the mobile phase, and filtering the mobile phase and sample solution through a membrane filter. The manual also provides procedures for column cleaning and regeneration, including flushing with ethanol, THF, or DMF/DMAC.
