Diese Funktion hilft bei der Messung von Ölschichtdicken auf Aluminium- und Stahloberflächen, wenn die Walzrichtung nicht erkennbar ist. Die Kompass-Funktion aktiviert sich durch Drücken der Messtaste, anschließendes Drehen des Sensors und stoppt bei der Stelle mit dem maximalen Balkenausschlag, um eine genaue Messung zu ermöglichen. Die Funktion ist seit 2018 verfügbar und kann auch in älteren NG2-Sensoren nachgerüstet werden.
