Summary

Before starting work, a risk assessment must be conducted to ensure compliance with Health and Safety at Work requirements. Protective measures, such as fall protection and personal protective equipment, must be identified and implemented to avoid falls and other risks.

The fall protection should be placed and adjusted over the opening in the roof, then connected to the base using screws or rivets according to the provided table. The type of fastener used depends on the roof construction, with wooden screws for wooden planks and high-strength rivets for steel and trapezoidal steel sheets.

Additional openings for items like fan motors should only be made shortly before installation, with a gap surrounding the motor of less than 150 mm. Employees must be instructed on the protective measures to be taken based on the risk assessment.
