Oil Water Separator (OWS) é um equipamento auxiliar utilizado em navios para separar a água da câmara de máquinas da mistura de óleo, resíduos de óleo, escapes de óleo e outros resíduos. O OWS funciona com base na Lei de Stokes, que define a velocidade de flutuação de um objeto ou partícula com base em seu peso específico e tamanho. O equipamento é projetado para separar a água e o óleo com base na diferença de densidade entre os dois fluidos. O OWS é composto por vários componentes, incluindo separador, coalescer, sensor de nível de óleo, válvula de três vias, medidor de teor de óleo, bomba de esgoto, separador de esgoto, coalescer, válvula de pistão, válvula solenóide, tanque de óleo sujo e filtro. A manutenção regular do OWS é necessária para garantir seu funcionamento adequado e evitar problemas durante a operação.
