Summary

Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) helps customers align with GDPR principles, including lawfulness, fairness, transparency, purpose limitation, data minimization, accuracy, storage limitation, and integrity and confidentiality. OCI provides a shared management model, where security is a shared responsibility between customers and the cloud service provider. Customers are responsible for securely configuring and using their cloud resources, while Oracle provides security functions for cloud infrastructure and operations. The GDPR defines three key roles: data subject, controller, and processor, with OCI customers assuming the role of controller for personal data collected by or through their applications.
