These instructions explain how to correctly use the EASHOOK OPEN equipment. The equipment is personal protective equipment (PPE) designed for activities with a risk of falls from height, and it must not be pushed beyond its limits or used for any purpose other than that for which it is designed.

The user is responsible for heeding each warning and using the equipment correctly, and any misuse can create additional dangers. The equipment must only be used by competent and responsible persons, or those placed under the direct and visual control of a competent and responsible person.

Before using the equipment, the user must read and understand all instructions, get specific training, become acquainted with its capabilities and limitations, and understand and accept the risks involved. The user must also inspect the equipment regularly, at least once every 12 months, and before each use, to verify that there are no cracks, deformation, or corrosion.

The equipment must be mounted in a suitable location, and the screw must be tightened well to ensure the gated attachment hole is secure. The carabiner must be loaded on the major axis, with the gate closed, and it must not be subjected to any pressure or rubbing that could unlock the gate or damage the gate and the unlocking lever.

The user must also verify that the equipment is compatible with other elements of the system, and that all items of equipment are correctly positioned with respect to each other. In case of a fall, the user must have a rescue plan and the means to rapidly implement it, and the anchor point for the system should preferably be located above the user's position and meet the requirements of the EN 795 standard.

The equipment must be retired when it has been subjected to a major fall, fails to pass inspection, or becomes obsolete due to changes in legislation, standards, technique, or incompatibility with other equipment. The user must destroy the equipment to prevent further use.
