Summary

A quadruple polarimetric camera, QuadCam, has been developed at the Defence Technology Agency in New Zealand for space situational awareness. The camera consists of four identical CCD cameras looking in the same direction but in different planes of polarisation at 0, 45, 90, and 135 degrees. Each camera is controlled by a Raspberry Pi computer, allowing for simultaneous image capture and improved readout speed. A GPS unit records the exposure time with microsecond accuracy. The QuadCam is mounted on a robotic telescope and will be used to track satellites in low Earth orbit and geostationary belt, providing polarimetric signatures for characterisation.
