To get a tournament included in FIDE's rating calculation, the following information must be provided to the Finnish FIDE rating administrator (Kalle Kumpulainen, [email protected]) at least 7 days before the tournament starts:
1. Tournament name and location
2. Start and end dates
3. Number of rounds
4. Number of days with more than one game per day
5. Tournament format (number of groups, round-robin or Swiss system)
6. Estimated number of players
7. Game format (standard, rapid, or blitz) and time control
8. Tournament arbiter(s) with FIDE arbiter license
9. Organizer (club and tournament director, if known)
10. Pairing software used
11. First tiebreak method used (e.g., Buchholz, Sonneborn-Berger)
12. Any age restrictions (juniors, seniors)
13. Any gender restrictions
14. Contact person's email address

After the tournament, the chief arbiter must send a TRF report (Tournament Report File) to the FIDE rating administrator, along with an electronic tournament report. The TRF report can be created using the Swiss-Manager software, and instructions for this are provided. The report must be sent as soon as possible after the tournament ends.
