Mason Capital LP (USA) and Mason Management LLC (USA) v. Republic of Korea:
A hearing will be held from October 2-4, 2019, in the arbitration between Mason Capital LP and Mason Management LLC (USA) and the Republic of Korea.
The hearing will take place at the New York International Arbitration Center (NYIAC) in New York.
The arbitration is being conducted under the UNCITRAL Arbitration Rules (1976) pursuant to the Free Trade Agreement between the Republic of Korea and the United States (June 30, 2007).
The hearing is open to the public, except for confidential information, and will be held from 9:30 am to 5:30 pm each day.
The public can observe the hearing in real-time at a designated location within the NYIAC.
Those wishing to observe must register in advance by emailing [email protected] by September 25, 2019.
The arbitration was initiated by Mason Capital LP and Mason Management LLC in 2018, and the dispute centers on the merger between Samsung C&T Corporation and Cheil Industries Inc. in July 2015.
The tribunal consists of Professor Klaus Sachs (Chair), The Rt. Hon. Dame Elizabeth Gloster, and Professor Pierre Mayer.
