Summary

Simulations at physical quark masses are affected by critical slowing down, which can be effectively dealt with using multigrid preconditioning. The adaptive aggregation-based domain decomposition multigrid (DD-αAMG) solver is employed for simulations with twisted mass fermions, generating Nf = 2 and Nf = 2 + 1 + 1 gauge ensembles. The DD-αAMG method is used in a hybrid approach with Conjugate Gradient (CG) and multi-mass-shift CG solvers, resulting in a significant speedup of more than a factor of 4 at physical pion mass compared to using the CG solver alone. The method's performance and stability are discussed, demonstrating its effectiveness in simulations with twisted mass fermions.
