Summary

A series of new triorganotin compounds were synthesized and tested for their insecticidal and pesticidal activity against Periplanata americana, Musca domestica, Spodoptera litura, and Tetranichus urticae, and were found highly active against Spodoptera litura. The compounds were prepared by reacting triorganotin chloride with suitable amides in the presence of triethylamine, and were recrystallized in pet-ether. The results show that organotin compounds have potential as biologically active compounds, exhibiting antimicrobial, anti-inflammatory, and cardiovascular activity, and can be used as insecticides and pesticides.
